I believe this car encouraged the Bosozoku street car culture in the mid- 80′s, This unique looking Skyline was used in the ‘Super Silhouette Formula Racing’ Series

This big winged bat out of hell was super special, with its 2.1 litre highly tuned engine accompanied by a special 16 valve twin-cam engine and T05B Turbo, this car produced an immense figure of 570 bhp which at that time was only achievable by the high displacement Fairlady-Z cars.

The famous wheel manufacturer SSR (Super Speedstar Racing) built one of a kind wheels for this beast, 15″ fronts and 19″ rears, however in later years Rays wheels were the provider of the later unique mesh style wheels.

Everything about this car was special, even the brake discs and calipers provided by Lockheed. As you can see the above picture of the car featured with the SSR wheels which just look immense!

The car was built using tubular space frame chassis, it was only partially a monocoque, the rear was lengthened to accommodate the huge wing for down force and the rest of the body panels were fibreglass to keep the car light weight. This car was certainly one of the most powerful cars in its series and with its unique aerodynamic styling it also influenced the modified Japanese car culture of the 80′s which is still famous and growing today.
