Better late than never, I know we’re a month late with our article about the famous Goodwood Festival Of Speed that we attended, hopefully the content of this post will make up for this.
Me and guys were very excited to attend this show, even though it took us almost 5 hours to get there. Sunday morning came so start to head out at 5:00am with all our camera gear and the itenary of all the things we wanted to see, and I can assure you there will never be enough time to experience all that the festival has to offer.
After various traffic delays we finally made it(slightly late) and as we were entering the car park area all we could hear was thundering sound of open V8 engines being driven to the absolute limit along with the sound of fire spitting and loud banging exhausts. I was so excited! I could not wait to get to the strip and see hooligan race cars responsible of such amazing sounds, and the culprits were obvious(pictured below).
After seeing the Can-Am cars make alot of noise and speed we had ground to cover and alot of it, so we head down the race cars paddock to find the Le-Man cars getting ready for action
Then we proceeded to have a bit of nose around the race bike paddocks, found some real beauties in there.
I was mainly excited about the oldskool F1 cars and the Can-Am race cars so I kept circling around the same paddock, I just couldn’t have enough of it!
Awesome right? well there is more, Lotus was celebrating their 60 years, so they wanted to celebrate with a bang, so if you have a soft spot for the John Player and Gold Leaf 60′s/70′s Formula 1 cars then prepare yourself. These are just pictures, to experience these cars in person up close and see these cars run up the hill climb at full blast is just something else.
That’s Part One for you guys, and this is just my personal coverage, I will do a Part Two which is a coverage of the Manufacturer’s exhibitions and some awesome shots of these John Player F1 cars giving the beans on the hill climb strip.
Also look out for Haris’ coverage of the show which includes the thrilling Forest Rally Stage and more Can-Am action, we might even post some videos of some of the cars.
